Progressive Blackjack

Progressive Blackjack adds an exciting element to the traditional game – the change to win a huge cash jackpot! For the most part progressive blackjack is played just like any other blackjack variant except it has some additional bonuses for side bets. This adds the excitement of slots to a game which is far less damaging to the player’s bankroll.
Playtech & Vegas Technology pay out the jackpot when players receive four aces of the same suit. Cryptologic is similar but in some ways easier to win because the jackpot pays out when a player receives four aces of the same colour (not necessarily the same suit).
Unlike the other software providers, Microgaming pay out when a player receives three diamond 7s. Thus the name of the game is ‘Triple Sevens’. There are secondary prizes ranging from 1,000 units for three suited sevens to 50 units for two suited sevens.
All of the progressive games require the player to place an additional $1 side bet on top of their normal game bet. While a $1 side bet is a relatively inexpensive wager for a green chip player, low rollers will be risking a higher proportion of their bankroll in order to be in with a chance on the progressive jackpot.
When a lucky player wins the jackpot the prize pool resets to a pre-determined figure (usually $10,000 – $50,000). As more players play the progressive element of the game a portion of their $1 side bet is added to the prize pool. Because the Microgaming jackpot pays out on three diamond seven cards, the prize pool pays out more frequently than the other software providers. Invariably this means that the prize pool may be somewhat smaller than those offered by Cryptologic, Playtech or Vegas Technology. On the other hand, you have a greater chance of hitting the jackpot!
