Europa Casinois powered by the popular Playtech software, and targets European players as the name suggests. We have always found Playtech casinos to offer a good variety of blackjack games, and to be easy to operate. Europa is no different in this respect. With 8 blackjack games there is a fairly good mix, but the variety maybe looks a little slim in comparison with Microgaming’s 35 plus blackjack games. Still, there are good (and fun) options such as Blackjack Switch (0.17% house edge) that should keep players happy. There is also a live dealer blackjack option, but this is only available to real money players (not for free).
Europa is fairly generous with their bonuses. Every player gets a monthly matched bonus of £100 (or currency equivalent), on top of £25 every week. Wagering requirements are fairly high at 30 times deposit and bonus. Blackjack switch does not count towards wagering, but bets placed on standard Blackjack, Blackjack Live, Lucky Blackjack, Progressive Blackjack and 21 Duel Blackjack count a third. That gives us blackjack players a wagering requirement of about £9000, which doesn’t look so fun. All their bonuses are sticky too, so we’d rather stick to our own cash, and have the flexibility to cash out when and if we want to. Still, the information is there for players to decide for themselves, and at least blackjack is permitted (albeit at a slower rate). There are also various high roller and VIP bonuses, as well as a 15% alternative deposit bonus.
if you like sticky bonuses, you’ll love it
We like the straightforward comps system, with a generous cashback of 0.1% on blackjack wagering. This cash can be wagered or withdrawn with no additional requirements. There is also a VIP comps system, with more promotions and bonuses available to VIPs. As with most Playtech casinos, comps are easily converted into cash which gives a nice bankroll boost. To us this is a much better deal than all the sticky bonuses with high wagering requirements.
Support is available via email or free-phone numbers, but unfortunately there is no live chat. Support was polite and relatively fast, but not as spectacular as some of their competitors. Tournaments are offered, but they are not particularly frequent and are mainly aimed at slots players. There isn’t anything particularly wrong that we could find with Europa, but there are better venues out there for blackjack players. It’s certainly a safe bet, but perhaps Europa lacks a little bit of that special extra something to distinguish it from other Playtech operations. If you like sticky bonuses, you’ll love it. If you’re like us and you don’t, you probably won’t fall in love. But you certainly won’t hate it either.
